HELSINKI, April 1 (Reuters) - Finnish President Alexander Stubb told U.S. President Donald Trump in a phone call on Wednesday that "a more European NATO" was taking shape and that Europe was "shouldering responsibility", Stubb's office said in an emailed statement.
Trump told Reuters on Wednesday he intended to say in an address to the nation later that he was considering withdrawing the U.S. from the NATO military alliance.
"Constructive discussion and exchange of ideas on NATO, Ukraine and Iran. Problems are there to be solved, pragmatically," Stubb wrote in a social media post.
A more European NATO would be on the agenda at the military alliance's annual summit in Ankara on July 7 and 8, Stubb's office said.
