Federal Government Advisors – Meet the Team Behind A Powerhouse in Federal Contract Consulting

Federal Government Advisors (FGA) is an independent contract consulting firm headquartered in Tampa, Florida, that specializes in assisting clients in securing highly-coveted government contracts. Founded in 2022 by Jeffrey Londono and Javier Hernandez, the company has exploded on the scene. It works with businesses of all sizes, nonprofit organizations, and freelancers to obtain everything necessary to do business within the federal government and get contracts now.

At Federal Government Advisors, they’re not just another ‘federal award registration’ firm. They believe in quality over quantity. The firm’s unique approach ensures that proposals are meticulously structured, with competitive price layouts, all amendments are acknowledged, and submissions are always on time.

FGA says communication is a critical factor in obtaining victories.

“The goal of our efforts is to put our clients on a path to win government contracts,” said Londono, who also serves as president and CEO. “Federal Government Advisors exist to make opportunities available to companies that otherwise would not have had them. Whether it be a simplified acquisition contract or a protracted formal bidding process, our resources go a long way to level the playing field for small and medium-sized businesses. Many of our clients have made lucrative, mutually beneficial arrangements with other clients of ours as a result of our robust system and protocols for bringing buyers and sellers together.”

What Makes FGA Stand Above Competitors?

Unlike many competitors, FGA does not outsource services overseas and maintains an in-house team of proposal developers. This approach avoids the exorbitant costs often associated with proposal writing, which can reach $250-300 per hour and take up to 700 hours per proposal.

The expert government consulting firm offers customized software solutions and allows clients to submit bids in person at their offices. This approach allows FGA to maintain a high standard of service and deliver customized software solutions that are not typically available elsewhere. Clients are even invited to submit their bids directly at the FGA office, adding a personal touch to their comprehensive service.

Federal Government Advisors Takes An Innovative Approach to Contracting

The potential rewards for businesses considering government contracts are substantial, but the process can be complex and time-consuming. This is where FGA’s expertise proves invaluable, guiding businesses through the intricacies of government contracting and significantly enhancing their chances of success.

The firm’s comprehensive approach simplifies the bidding process and provides strategic insights that can lead to long-term growth and stability in the competitive landscape of government contracting.

Federal Government Advisors holds several certifications, including Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB), Veteran Owned, 8A Certification (minority-owned), Women Business Enterprise, Minority Business Enterprise, and Service Disabled Veteran Small Business.

Federal Government Advisors Is Born

Jeffrey Londono co-founded Federal Government Advisors (FGA) after identifying a significant gap in the industry. In 2022, he embarked on a mission to redefine federal contract consulting, driven by a vision to empower small businesses and foster growth and prosperity.

“Small businesses were not getting the assistance they needed to secure actual contracts,” Londono explains. “They would sign up with federal registration firms, which would send them opportunities but fail to answer the phone or guide them through the bidding process. What good does it do a business to receive a multi-million dollar opportunity if they don’t even understand the requirements? I worked for a federal registration firm that only handled the bare minimum needed to be in the field.”

Londono likens the situation to having a fishing license without the skills to catch fish.

Reflecting on his time as a contracting advisor at a previous firm, he notes that instead of presenting value to potential clients, he was constantly “putting out fires like a firefighter.”

He then understood the larger issue and decided to enter the federal contracting industry because it is an indestructible market, he says.

“During COVID, for example, when everybody had to shut down their businesses and organizations, many people went bankrupt and lost everything,” Londono recalls. “I noticed that all federal registration consulting firms were booked with business. But what good are these bookings if the client isn’t even being serviced properly? So, I decided to separate myself from these one-stop registration firms. I went independent in 2021 to provide what wasn’t offered.”

Londono’s Vision: Transforming Federal Contract Consulting

In 2021, Jeffrey Londono made the pivotal decision to break away from the typical one-stop registration firms, aiming to provide services that were sorely lacking in the industry. “I realized I was a great speaker and leader,” Londono said, emphasizing the skills that set him apart. Recognizing the need for a partner to complement his strengths, Londono turned to Javier Hernandez, a childhood friend and former junior league soccer teammate.

Hernandez, with double degrees in Business and Leadership, was seen by Londono as the perfect fit. “He was the yin to my yang,” Londono remarked, highlighting how their combined skills on the soccer field translated seamlessly into their professional collaboration. Hernandez’s structure and organization proved invaluable, enabling the duo to navigate the complexities of federal contract consulting with precision and efficiency.

The partnership between Londono and Hernandez, rooted in their childhood collaboration, has become a cornerstone of their success. “We realized how our combined skills helped us succeed on the field,” Londono explained. This realization underscored the importance of teamwork and complementary strengths in building a successful business.

By leveraging their unique talents, Londono and Hernandez have created a company that stands out in the federal contract consulting industry, providing comprehensive support and personalized guidance to small and medium-sized businesses.

The next step was to amass a strong team with unique skill sets to create a firm foundation for those seeking FGA’s expertise.

Building a Winning Team at Federal Government Advisors

In a twist of fate, Jeffrey Londono’s driver, Kyle, introduced him to Bill Vear, a seasoned bid writer with decades of experience in federal contracting. Vear’s impressive resume includes working on the $14 billion Central Artery Tunnel Project. Recognizing the potential, Londono saw how their partnership and Javier Hernandez’s expertise could form an unstoppable team.

“Bill’s experience was invaluable,” Londono noted. “His work with companies like EDS Inc., Environmental and Demolition Services, and Pure Air Control Services brought a wealth of knowledge to our team.”

Leveraging assets from his crypto trading success, Londono acquired a 5,000-square-foot warehouse space. Bill utilized his extensive network to hire experts in bid submission and those with winning past performances nationwide. “We brought in individuals with military experience who understood the procurement process and all FAR clauses,” Londono said. This team’s capability to handle highly complicated proposals sets them apart.

In 2022, FGA secured its first contract, a $75,000 deal for Virginia-based Aurora Construction Services. The client was thrilled with the return on investment and began frequent visits to explore new products and differentiate their offerings. “It was a significant milestone,” Londono remarked. By late 2022, FGA had established a reputation and moved into its office space.

“Winning our first contract demonstrated our ability to navigate the complex federal contracting process,” Londono said. The victory boosted team morale and reinforced their mission’s confidence, highlighting the real-world impact of their efforts.

FGA, which now has over 100 employees, is not just a registration firm but a proposal development powerhouse. “We handle any federal contracting needs for small businesses, from registrations to SBA certifications and state and local submissions,” Londono explained. Their comprehensive approach has led to winning about $150 million in federal contracts for clients, with a total of $300 million in award history.

The firm’s success is also attributed to strategic hires like Darrell Hacker, who holds an MBA in Business Management from the University of Miami. “Darrell was perfect for handling our sales and overseeing the hiring process for contract advisors,” Londono said. The hiring and continuous coaching strategy has created a well-oiled machine, repeatedly doubling sales.

“We’ve created a family-like culture,” Londono added. “Our team of the best people allows us to offer impeccable service that fuels our exponential growth.” This success has positioned FGA as a springboard for small businesses, enabling them to become prime contract holders for the federal government.

Generals and head contracting officers note Londono’s presence, making FGA a notable player in the federal contracting arena.
