Add as preferred source on GoogleFastweb + Vodafone, under Swisscom, is terminating its Master Service Agreement with INWIT, citing above-market tower costs and lack of negotiation. This follows its announcement last week, with Telecom Italia, to build up to 6,000 new towers—direct competition to INWIT.
March 25 (Reuters) - Swisscom said on Wednesday its Italian business Fastweb + Vodafone was terminating its master service agreement (MSA) with the country's top mast operator INWIT.
"The decision to terminate the MSA stems from INWIT's tower costs being above market level and its refusal to engage in formal negotiations to align with standard market conditions," the company said in a statement.
A spokesperson for INWIT said "the views expressed by Fastweb are specious and unfounded."
Shares in INWIT failed to start trading on Wednesday, seen down 8.8%.
Fastweb and Telecom Italia, INWIT's biggest tenants, said last week they would build up to 6,000 telecom towers in Italy, a direct challenge to the mast operator.

They cited INWIT's tower costs being above market level and refusal to negotiate to match standard industry rates.
Fastweb and Telecom Italia are the largest tenants of INWIT.
They announced plans to build up to 6,000 telecom towers in Italy.
It may lead to increased competition with more telecom towers being built by Fastweb and Telecom Italia.
