Project Qatar: The Ultimate Destination for Industry Leaders and Professionals in 2017

The Leading Platform to seize massive opportunities in direct investments in the Qatari Market 

Under the Patronage of the Qatari Government and the great support of HH Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al Thani, The Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, IFP Qatar is honored to launch Project Qatar 2017, the 14th International Construction Technology & Building Materials Exhibition, from 8 – 11 May at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.

During the past few years, Qatar has witnessed a huge boom in the construction sector in the lightof the preparations for the 2022 World Cup and Qatar National Vision 2030, as it continues to attract foreign businesses, due to the abundance of its natural wealth, and clear openness to attracting foreign investments.

The 14th edition of Project Qatar draws on IFPs’ expertise in organizing and delivering a high-end exhibition with a desire to foster a holistic experience for both exhibitors and visitors. It’s the result of determination to bring Qatar’s rich economy to the world exploring the wide world of opportunities in Qatar.

The legacy and the success of the 14thedition is authenticated by a vast effect of high satisfaction level and positive feedback recorded by all the show’s stakeholders. In 2016, Project Qatar moved to a new venue, the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC), the state-of-the-art facility located at the heart of Qatar’s capital in West Bay. The venue was easily accessible from several main roads and located just near most of the business hotels, while providing an underground parking with direct access to the registration desks.

Among the major Highlights in last year’s edition was the presence of the ministry stands for the first time at the show. The Ministry of Municipality and Environment with three of its divisions: Public Parks, ASHGHAL, Water Treatment as well as the Ministry of Energy and Industry which allowed both exhibitors and visitors to interact with the respective entities and understand about the projects firsthand.

For Project Qatar 2017, IFP Qatar, the organizer of the exhibition, signed an accessibility sponsorship agreement with Sasol, an international integrated chemicals and energy company, to promote the latter’s signature corporate responsibility efforts in Qatar. Launched in 2012, the ‘Definitely Able’ initiative aims to highlight the positive contributions of, and create opportunities for, people living with disabilities.

‘Accessible Qatar’, created by Sasol under its ‘Definitely able’ CSR umbrella, is the region’s first smartphone application and website to provide reliable crowd-sourced information on the accessibility of popular locations around Qatar for people with special needs.

Project Qatar 2017 will highlight Sasol’s initiative by setting up a pavilion for specialized companies to showcase their accessibility products, equipment, and solutions. It will host a dedicated 2-day conference and will debut an accessible clinic for the first time.

The 14thInternational Construction Technology & Building Materials Exhibition will be held concurrently with Qatar Stone Tech 2017, The 7thInternational Stone and Stone Technology Show, Heavy Max 2017, The 14thInternational Exhibition for Heavy Machinery, in addition to three new events, Qatar Smart Technologies 2017, the 2nd International Innovative Smart Construction Solutions Show, Qatar Sports Infrastructure 2017, the 2nd International Exhibition for Sports Infrastructure, and Qatar Transport & logistics, the 2nd International Transport &Logistics Exhibition. In collaboration with the Qatar Chamber of Commerce, Project Qatar will also organize specialized construction related workshops, offering attendees a comprehensive education program with classes emphasizing industry issues and trends, management and applied technology, among others.

Project Qatar 2016 was an un-paralleled achievement hosting 663 exhibitors representing more than 1050 companies and brands displaying their products to 14,442 unique visitors (showing 29% increase compared to last year), with 17 national pavilions from 38 countries. We have also introduced an improved B2B matchmaking platform designed in an innovative friendly user way that analyzes the interest of the buyers matching it automatically with respective suppliers. A total of 472 B2B meetings were scheduled including 55 meetings with prominent buyers such as: ASHGHAL, Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) and Qatar Green Building Counsel (QGBC).
