    COLOGNO MONZESE, Italy, March 18 (Reuters) - MFE‑MediaForEurope's net profit "more than doubled" last year from 137.9 million euros ($158.86 million) in 2024, the head of the European broadcaster said on Wednesday.

    The result includes the fourth-quarter full contribution of German broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 <PSMGn.DE, which MFE took over last year.

    MFE will publish its full‑year 2025 earnings next month.

    Advertising Market Trends

    At a press conference held at MFE’s headquarters near Milan, CEO Pier Silvio Berlusconi said that the advertising market had been difficult in the first quarter across Italy, Spain and Germany, while adding that there were early signs of improvement in March.

    "The advertising outlook is improving, despite the conflict (in the Middle East). We do not have any warning over the advertising market for now", he said.

    Cost-Cutting and Revenue Initiatives

    Synergies from ProSieben Deal

    Berlusconi, the son of company founder and former Italian premier Silvio Berlusconi, said plans to cut costs and generate new revenue from the ProSieben deal were progressing "ahead of our expectations".

    MFE planned to add up to 315 million euros within four years to its operating profit stemming from ProSiebenSat.
