BERLIN, March 19 (Reuters) - Deutsche Bank has appointed Marie-Jeanne Deverdun and Stefan Hoops to its management board, the bank said on Thursday in a statement.
Hoops is currently CEO of Deutsche Bank’s asset manager DWS and the lender said his appointment to the board reflects the importance of asset management within its focused growth strategy over the coming years.
Hoops has largely won over investors with a three-year turnaround at DWS after being parachuted in from Deutsche Bank following a damaging greenwashing scandal at the asset manager. DWS shares are up about 80% over this period.
Deverdun has been appointed to the management board as Chief Technology, Data and Innovation Officer after being with Deutsche Bank for 16 years, most recently as Chief Operating Officer for the corporate bank and investment bank.
The supervisory board also decided to appoint Fabrizio Campelli president, effective July 1, when the tenure of the bank’s current president, James von Moltke, will end.
