ZURICH (Reuters) – The Swiss government has appointed Cornelia Stamm Hurter as a new member of the Swiss National Bank (SNB) Bank Council, the SNB said on Wednesday, following an earlier government announcement.
Stamm Hurter, cantonal councillor and head of the finance department of the canton of Schaffhausen, will join the SNB bank council on May 1, 2022. She will succeed Ernst Stocker, who will stand down at the end of April 2022.
“The SNB would like to take this opportunity to thank Ernst Stocker for his hard work on the Bank Council and wish him all the best for the future,” the SNB said in a statement.

Cornelia Stamm Hurter has been appointed as a new member of the Swiss National Bank Bank Council.
She will join the SNB Bank Council on May 1, 2022.
She will succeed Ernst Stocker, who is stepping down from his position.
She was the cantonal councillor and head of the finance department of the canton of Schaffhausen.
The SNB expressed gratitude for Ernst Stocker's hard work on the Bank Council and wished him well for the future.
