Building on a revolutionary year for the hemp industry, Nutiva is celebrating 20 years of hemp advocacy and the dawning of a new era of hemp production and cultivation in the U.S. through the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill. According to Hemp Business Journal, U.S. sales of hemp products are projected to reach $2.6 billion by 2020. This explosive industry growth inspired the theme for this years Hemp History Week, Return of the Plant, taking place from June 3-9.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Hemp History Week aims to raise awareness about the environmental sustainability, health benefits, regenerative agriculture potential and new technological applications of industrial hemp. It is an industry-wide initiative of the Hemp Industries Association (HIA), and receives support from hundreds of grassroots and retailer events. Themed Return of the Plant, this year will celebrate the recent passage of the Farm Bill with the Hemp Farming Amendment, which has removed hemp from the Controlled Substances Act and legalizes hemp farming in the U.S.
