The UK will impose anti-dumping duties on Chinese biodiesel imports, with rates from 14.79% to 54.64%, effective November 25, to protect local producers.
LONDON (Reuters) -Britain will apply anti-dumping duties on biodiesel imports from China after finding they were sold at unfairly low prices, the government said on Tuesday.
Britain's body that investigates unfair trade practices recommended the measures after concluding that Chinese biodiesel caused material injury to British producers, including Argent Energy and Olleco.
The duties, effective from November 25, will be 14.79% for the Zhuoyue Group and non-sampled cooperating exporters, and 54.64% for all others.

Biodiesel is a renewable fuel made from vegetable oils, animal fats, or recycled cooking grease, used as an alternative to traditional petroleum-based diesel fuel.
Material injury refers to significant harm caused to a domestic industry due to unfair trade practices, such as dumping, which can lead to job losses and reduced production.
The Zhuoyue Group is a Chinese company identified in the article as one of the exporters of biodiesel affected by the UK's anti-dumping duties.
