Siemens Healthineers does not foresee any business impact from China's new restrictions on EU medical device purchases, citing a strong local presence.
MUNICH (Reuters) -Siemens Healthineers does not expect the current developments in China to have a material impact on its business, a spokesperson for the German medical technology group said on Monday.
"Our strong presence in China is part of the global manufacturing footprint we have built up over the years to strategically serve local markets and ensure minimal disruption," the spokesperson said in a statement.
China's finance ministry said on Sunday it was restricting government purchases of medical devices from the European Union that exceed 45 million yuan ($6.3 million) in value, in retaliation to Brussels' own curbs last month.
