KYIV (Reuters) -Ukraine's state-owned defence conglomerate UkrOboronProm has registered a joint venture with French defence company Thales, a Ukrainian official said on Tuesday.
The Ukrainian government is seeking help from its foreign partners to scale up its domestic defence industry as it fends off a bigger and better equipped Russian army in the fourth year of war.
The registration took place at the beginning of July, UkrOboronProm director Herman Smentanin said on the Telegram messaging app during a visit to London.
He said the joint venture would work on creating "advanced technological solutions" in air defence, radar systems, electronic warfare and tactical communications.
