Vance emphasizes Europe's primary role in Ukraine's security, urging European nations to lead efforts, aligning with U.S. expectations.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) -U.S. Vice President JD Vance said on Wednesday European countries will have to take the "lion's share" of the burden of Ukraine's security guarantees.
"I don't think we should carry the burden here. I think that we should be helpful if it's necessary to stop the war and to stop the killing. But I think that we should expect, and the president certainly expects, Europe to play the leading role here," Vance told Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle" show.
"No matter what form this takes, the Europeans are going to have to take the lion's share of the burden."

Vice President JD Vance stated that European countries will need to take the 'lion's share' of the burden for Ukraine's security guarantees.
Vance believes the U.S. should be helpful if necessary to stop the war but expects Europe to take on the majority of the responsibility.
He emphasized that regardless of the form it takes, Europeans must shoulder the majority of the burden concerning Ukraine's security.
