A fire at Volgograd refinery was caused by Ukrainian drone debris. Firefighters responded swiftly, and no casualties were reported.
MOSCOW (Reuters) -Fallen debris from Ukrainian drones caused a fire at an oil refinery in Russia's Volgograd, the governor said on Thursday.
"Firefighters quickly began extinguishing the fire. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties," Andrey Bocharov said on the Telegram.
Lukoil, an owner of the refinery, has not yet responded for a Reuters request to comment the attack.
Russia's defence ministry said air defence systems had intercepted and destroyed 44 Ukrainian drones overnight, including nine over Volgograd region.
