Russian Defence Ministry reports nine Ukrainian drones downed over Sea of Azov and Krasnodar. Incidents caused minor injuries and vehicle damage.
(Reuters) - Russia's Defence Ministry said on Sunday its air defence units had destroyed six Ukrainian drones in a little less than an hour over the Sea of Azov in southern Ukraine and three more in Russia's southern region of Krasnodar.
A ministry statement on Telegram said the incidents occurred between 7:50 p.m and 8:45 p.m. Moscow time (1650 to 1745 GMT).
The Sea of Azov lies next to parts of southern Ukraine that are largely occupied by Russian forces.
The Russia-installed governor of those parts of Zaporizhzhia region under Russian control said air defences had downed a Ukrainian drone over the Azov port of Berdyansk and another over the Sea of Azov.
The governor of Krasnodar region said fragments from downed drones had hit private homes in the town of Slavyansk-na-Kubani, injuring a 4-year-old girl.
The governor of Russia's western Kursk region, where Ukrainian troops hold a chunk of territory more than six months after a cross-border incursion, said Ukrainian drones had struck two vehicles. There were no injuries.
