UK PM Keir Starmer updates Trump on coalition efforts to support Ukraine, focusing on economic and military cooperation for peace.
LONDON (Reuters) - British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has updated U.S. President Donald Trump on talks between the 'coalition of the willing' to both strengthen Ukraine and provide support in the event of peace deal with Russia, his spokesperson said on Tuesday.
A spokesperson for Starmer said the call happened late on Monday.
"The prime minister updated the president on his coalition of the willing call ... He reiterated that all must work together to put Ukraine in the strongest possible position to secure a just and lasting peace," the spokesperson said.
He told reporters the two also discussed the trip of Britain's business minister to Washington on Tuesday to make progress on securing a wider economic deal and U.S. strikes against Houthi targets at the weekend, which Britain supported with routine air-to-air refuelling.
