UK's Starmer and US President Trump discuss a tough and fair Ukraine peace deal, with UK ready to support militarily.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on Thursday he had discussed with U.S. President Donald Trump a Ukraine peace deal that would be tough and fair, and that Britain was prepared to put boots on the ground and planes in the air to support it.
"We discussed a plan today to reach a peace that is tough and fair, that Ukraine will help shape, that is backed by strength, to stop Putin coming back for more," Starmer said alongside Trump at the White House.
"I'm clear that the UK is ready to put boots on the ground and planes in the air to support a deal, working together with our allies, because that is the only way that peace will last."
