Russian Guided Bomb Strikes Kupiansk, Injuring Four

(Reuters) - A Russian guided bomb struck a house in the northeastern Ukrainian town of Kupiansk, injuring four people and possibly trapping three more under rubble, the regional governor said.

Governor Oleh Syniehubov, writing on the Telegram messaging app, also posted a picture showing a dwelling reduced to a large pile of wood, concrete and other building materials.

Kupiansk, located in Kharkiv region, was seized by Russian forces in the early days of the February 2022 full-scale invasion of Ukraine. It was recaptured by Ukrainian troops later that year in a lightning counter-offensive.

Russian troops have been repeatedly attacking the town in recent months, one of several targets as they advance through several areas of eastern Ukraine.

In southern Kherson region, partly controlled by Russian troops, local officials said a drone struck a car carrying a team of war volunteers, killing one and injuring two.
