German inflation eased to 2.1% in May, slightly above the expected 2.0%, as per preliminary data from the federal statistics office.
BERLIN (Reuters) -German inflation eased further in May but slowing less than forecast to 2.1%, preliminary data from the federal statistics office showed on Friday.
Analysts polled by Reuters had forecast a reading of 2.0%, after a year-on-year increase in consumer prices of 2.2% in April, based on data harmonised to compare with other European countries.

The inflation rate in Germany for May was 2.1%, according to preliminary data.
The inflation rate in April was 2.2%, indicating a slight decrease in May.
Analysts had forecasted a reading of 2.0% for May, which was slightly below the actual figure.
