    Quick Summary

Greg Guyett, former HSBC banker, joins EBRD as head of client services, leading banking and policy activities from September 1.

Greg Guyett Appointed as EBRD's New Head of Client Services

LONDON (Reuters) -Former top HSBC investment banker Greg Guyett has joined the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development as its head of client services, the EBRD said on Friday.

Guyett will join the EBRD on September 1 and lead teams responsible for banking, advising and policy activities, the development lender said.

Guyett was head of HSBC's Global Banking and Markets division from 2022 until last October, when a reshuffle by incoming Group CEO Georges Elhedery shifted Guyett away from running the lender's investment bank to a newly created role advising clients.

The former JPMorgan banker also lost his seat on the bank's executive committee, its top decision-making body, in Elhedery's reorganisation of the British bank's management.

He will join the EBRD's executive committee, it said.

Investments made by the EBRD rose by 26% in 2024 to a record 16.6 billion euros ($18.79 billion) thanks to more projects in Ukraine and green financing, the lender said in January.
