Italy's new car sales rose by 2.71% in April, marking the second consecutive month of growth. Stellantis, despite a slight sales decrease, increased its market share.
MILAN (Reuters) -Sales of new cars in Italy rose by 2.71% in April compared to the same month of the previous year, the second straight increase after seven consecutive months of year-on-year declines, transport ministry data showed on Friday.
Total sales in April stood at 139,084 vehicles.
Market leader Stellantis, whose brands include Fiat, Jeep, Chrysler and Peugeot, saw its sales decrease by 0.12% year-on-year, according to Reuters calculations.
The calculations also indicated that the Franco-Italian automaker's market share edged up to 30.61% from 30.26% in March.
