Standard Chartered names Sal Vitale as US coverage head

(Reuters) - Standard Chartered has named Sal Vitale as managing director and head of coverage for the U.S. and the Americas, the bank said on Tuesday.

Vitale brings almost 25 years of corporate and investment banking experience, having previously served as managing director and head of U.S. corporate coverage at Deutsche Bank.

He spent over 15 years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he worked in corporate, investment banking, and debt capital markets, focusing on energy, power, and industrial clients.

In the new role, Sal will spearhead efforts to strengthen the bank's coverage capability, connecting corporate and financial institution clients to its global footprint, Standard Chartered said.

Based in New York, Vitale will report to senior leaders across global corporate and financial institutions coverage, as well as to Steven Cranwell, CEO of the U.S. and the Americas.
