MADRID (Reuters) - A 24-year-old man was arrested in Spain's eastern Valencia region on Thursday over emails threatening to attack schools and "kill as many people as possible," police said.
Several schools in the town of Bunol and surrounding areas were closed or evacuated after receiving the threats, authorities said.
"Since early morning, both the Guardia Civil and the Bunol Local Police have been in charge of checking all the schools and protecting them," the Bunol municipality said.
"The schools have been evacuated due to the social alarm created. We call for calm," it added on its Facebook page.
