Sainsbury's announces NewDay's beneficial title acquisition of Argos cards portfolio, valued at £720M. Legal title to transfer in 2026.
British supermarket chain Sainsbury's said on Monday that NewDay Group had gained beneficial title, or the right to benefit from a property, to its Argos Financial Services (AFS) cards portfolio.
Sainsbury's had sold the AFS portfolio to NewDay for an expected 720 million pounds ($906.9 million) in October last year. NewDay will get legal title to the portfolio in the first quarter of 2026.
