Russia's Supreme Court will review a request to suspend the Taliban ban on April 17, as the country builds ties with the group, now seen as an ally against terrorism.
MOSCOW (Reuters) - The office of Russia's Prosecutor General has asked the Supreme Court to suspend a ban on the Taliban, the Interfax news agency reported on Monday.
The Supreme court will consider the move on April 17, the state-run RIA news agency said.
Russia, which has long included the Taliban on a list of banned terrorist organisations, has been gradually building ties with the movement.
