Poland's gas storage reaches 100%, leading the EU. Energy Minister Motyka emphasizes energy security and calls for ending Russian oil imports by 2026.
WARSAW (Reuters) -Poland's gas storage facilities are now 100% full, Energy Minister Miłosz Motyka said on Wednesday.
"Gas storage in Poland is 100% full! This is the highest level of storage capacity among all EU countries. It is also a guarantee of energy security and real protection against crises," Motyka wrote on X.
Poland continues to push for greater energy independence across the European Union. Last week, Motyka urged other EU energy ministers to commit to ending imports of Russian crude oil by the end of 2026 — a year earlier than the bloc's current target.
