A Polish F-16 fighter jet crashed during a rehearsal for the Radom airshow, resulting in the pilot's death and the event's cancellation.
WARSAW (Reuters) -A Polish Air Force F-16 fighter jet crashed during a rehearsal for an airshow in Radom, central Poland, and the pilot died, a government spokesman said on Thursday.
Polish media said the aircraft crashed into the runway around 1730 GMT and damaged it. The Radom Airshow planned for the weekend has been cancelled.
Government spokesman Adam Szlapka confirmed the pilot's death on social media platform X but gave no further details.
The defence minister is on his way to the crash site, he added.
