Germany's SPD and conservatives are discussing a timetable for government formation talks, led by SPD's Lars Klingbeil and conservative Friedrich Merz.
BERLIN (Reuters) - The co-leader of Germany's Social Democrats, Lars Klingbeil, said on Wednesday that his party was in talks with election winner Friedrich Merz and his conservatives about agreeing on a timetable for negotiations towards the creation of a government.
"We are now in talks with the conservatives, Friedrich Merz and I have agreed that, once the line-ups in the groups are clear, we will speak soon and also agree on a timetable for talks," he said.

Lars Klingbeil, the co-leader of Germany's Social Democrats, is leading the talks.
The Social Democrats are in talks with Friedrich Merz and his conservative party.
