The EU Commission found China limits access to its medical device market, prompting potential restrictions on Chinese suppliers in Europe.
BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The European Commission said on Tuesday it had found "clear evidence" that EU suppliers of medical devices are not given fair access to China's public tenders, a finding that could lead to restrictions on Chinese suppliers in Europe.
The EU executive said it was assessing its next steps to tackle what it described as discrimination against EU medical devices.
The Commission launched its first ever investigation in April 2024 under its International Procurement Instrument (IPI), which aims to ensure reciprocity in access to public procurement.
