Eni and YPF have signed a MoU for an LNG project in Argentina, aiming to export up to 30 million tons annually from the Vaca Muerta gas field.
(Reuters) - Italian energy group Eni said on Monday it signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Argentine state-run oil producer YPF on its possible participation in an liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Argentina.
The Argentina LNG project aims to develop the onshore "Vaca Muerta" gas field and supply international markets by exporting up to 30 million tons per year (Mtpa) of LNG by the end of the decade, Eni said in a statement.
The MoU signed by the two companies concerns the development of upstream, transportation and liquefaction facilities for gas using two floating LNG units of 6 Mtpa each, for a total of 12 Mtpa.
