The UK has summoned Rwanda's High Commissioner due to M23 rebels' advances in eastern Congo, demanding troop withdrawal to respect DRC sovereignty.
LONDON (Reuters) - Britain said on Tuesday it had summoned the Rwandan High Commissioner following advances by the Rwandan Defence Force and the Rwanda-backed M23 rebels in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
"These advances constitute an unacceptable violation of DRC’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Government of Rwanda must immediately withdraw all Rwanda Defence Force troops from Congolese territory," a British foreign office spokesperson said in a statement.
