Volkswagen and CATL are partnering to develop new lithium batteries, with plans to expand into battery recycling and vehicle-to-grid technology.
(Reuters) - Volkswagen Group and CATL, the world's largest battery maker, signed a statement of intent to collaborate on product development for new lithium batteries, CATL said on Monday.
The partnership will later extend to other areas for electrified vehicles like battery recycling and vehicle-to-grid technology, where electricity from the car is transferred back into the electricity grid, CATL said.
