UK PM Keir Starmer is keeping all options open for the future of the British Steel plant in Scunthorpe, potentially affecting 2,700 jobs.
LONDON (Reuters) - British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on Monday he was keeping all options open in relation to the future of the China-owned British Steel plant in Scunthorpe, northeast England.
"All options are on the table in relation to Scunthorpe," Starmer told a press conference, when asked if the government would consider nationalisation to support British Steel, which said last month it could close its two blast furnaces with the potential loss of up to 2,700 jobs.

The main topic is UK PM Keir Starmer's consideration of all options for the future of the British Steel plant in Scunthorpe.
Options include nationalisation and other measures to prevent the closure of the plant's blast furnaces.
Up to 2,700 jobs could be at risk if the plant's blast furnaces close.
