LONDON (Reuters) - British lawmaker Mike Amesbury, who was suspended from the governing Labour Party for punching a man, is standing down from as a member of parliament, he told the BBC, triggering a by-election for his seat in northern England.
Last month Amesbury won an appeal against a prison sentence for the assault.
