Belgium's Defence Ministry investigates drones over Elsenborn military base, with similar sightings at Munich airport causing flight disruptions.
BRUSSELS (Reuters) -Belgium's Defence Ministry has opened an investigation into several drones flying over the military base at Elsenborn, on the German border, overnight.
"This is the first such incident we are aware of," a ministry spokesperson said on Friday.
An unspecified number of drones flew over the military base and left towards Germany, she said.
Drone sightings also overnight at Germany's Munich airport, some 600 km (380 miles) southeast of Elsenborn, led to the cancellation and diversion of dozens of flights.
