Comau, backed by Stellantis, acquires Automha to enhance its logistics automation capabilities. The deal is set to close by Q2 2025.
(Reuters) - Italy-based robotic company Comau signed a binding agreement to acquire full control of Automha, an Italian firm operating in the logistic automation sector, from current owner Trasma, the three companies said on Wednesday.
The closing of the Automha deal is expected by the second quarter of 2025. Financial terms were not disclosed for the purchase of the company, which is based in Bergamo in northern Italy.
"Expanding our scope, our know-how, and our technology portfolio through the acquisition of innovative companies like Automha is a key step in Comau's growth strategy, defined during the process that led us to become an independent company," Comau CEO Pietro Gorlier said.
Comau, formerly controlled by carmaker Stellantis, sold a majority stake to private equity firm One Equity Partners last July as part of a strategy to expand beyond the automotive sector.
Stellantis retains a 49.9% stake in the company.
