The UK competition regulator has approved Synopsys' $35 billion acquisition of Ansys, avoiding a phase-2 probe after accepting remedies.
(Reuters) - Britain's competition regulator said on Wednesday it would not refer chip design software maker Synopsys' <SNPS.O> $35 billion acquisition of Ansys <ANSS.O> to an in-depth phase-2 probe after accepting remedies from the firms.

The main topic is the UK competition regulator's clearance of Synopsys' $35 billion acquisition of Ansys.
The phase-2 probe was avoided because the regulator accepted remedies proposed by Synopsys and Ansys.
