David Petrie, head of ICAEW’s Corporate Finance Faculty, said: “Advising on the right form of finance, either for business growth or for buying another company is an essential skill and having more people trained in that way is vital for economic recovery in Cyprus”.

David continued “Today’s corporate finance professionals need to have a depth and breadth of knowledge and skills and be able to demonstrate the highest technical, ethical and commercial standards. ICAEW is recognised around the world as providing rigorous and robust qualifications which underpin trust and confidence in business. This qualification will provide successful candidates with the practical skills and technical knowledge to handle complex strategic corporate finance situations, as well as acting as a marker of their world-class calibre.”

Kevin Moore, CISI Global Business Development Director said: “A candidate who takes the initiative to put themselves through the Diploma in Corporate Finance shows a high level of commitment to that career path. According to a recent speech made by President Anastasiades, the Cypriot economy is on the way to recovery, with efforts to attract new investments and create new jobs. Undertaking a professional qualification at this time is an investment for both potential candidates and firms wishing to employ them.

“Working in corporate finance can offer an exciting career, covering activities including buying and selling companies, restructuring a financially troubled business and helping companies to raise capital to fund growth.”
