IPWA 2015 in Dubai at the prestigious Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, October 21-22 is a unique platform bringing together top insurance professionals, West African insurance regulators and business leaders to discuss emerging trends like Micro insurance, Takaful and Climate Insurance Fund to formulate the best strategies to increase current and future insurance penetration rates.

Mr. Branko Wehnert, Project Manager Insurance and Micro-insurance, GIZ, will share his insights on covering 7.5 million risks and lives in Ghana through Micro insurance, and Mr. Gustaf Agartson, CEO, BIMAwill discuss developments in the use of mobile telecommunications as a cost effective distribution channel.

Doug Lacey, Partner at LeapFrog investments will provide an insight into investing using private equity funds, and award winning Lawyer Peter Petrou, Partner at Aspen Morris will provide a comprehensive guide on Doing business in West Africa.  According to Forbes.com, Peter Petrou “has advised several of the world’s largest corporations on doing business in Africa. Over the years, he has built formidable high level political and business contacts throughout Europe, US, Middle-East and Africa and is seen as the “go to person” when doing deals in Africa.”

West African insurers will also be in attendance presenting thought provoking sessions on which business lines will drive growth, challenging the regulators to align their policies with the underlying philosophies of insurance businesses, andlooking at the key drivers to increasing penetration.
