Steven Eckhaus and Evan Belosa Bring Established Executive Compensation Presence to the Firm’s New York Office

International law firm McDermott Will & Emery announced today that Steven Eckhaus and Evan Belosa have joined the firm as partners in the New York office.  Both will be members of the Firm’s Employee Benefits, Compensation, Labor & Employment Practice Group.  Mr. Eckhaus will lead the Practice Group in New York.

Mr. Eckhaus is a preeminent figure in US executive compensation and employment law.  He is best known for representing executives in large compensation deals, advising decision makers on  employment matters, and litigating contract disputes. Mr. Eckhaus formed and led the executive compensation practice at his previous firm.

Mr. Eckhaus has been ranked by Chambers (USA) for his New York Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation practice and has been consistently recognized as a Leading Lawyer by The Legal 500.  This year marks the sixth consecutive year that Mr. Eckhaus has been recognized by Human Resource Executive as one of the nation’s “20 Most Powerful Employment Lawyers in Employee Benefits and ERISA.

Mr. Belosa is an experienced litigator, negotiator and counselor, focusing his practice on all aspects of executive employment and compensation matters.  Mr. Belosa represents institutions in all aspects of the employer/employee relationship, with a specific emphasis on employment agreements, separation agreements, equity and deferred compensation plans and restrictive covenant issues.

Mr. Eckhaus received his JD from Cornell University Law School, and his BS from Cornell University.

Mr. Belosa received his JD from Harvard Law School and his BA from Emory University.
