What is MICR Code?

MICR code is “Magnetic Ink Character Recognition” used widely in banks for process and clearance of cheques. It’s usually unique for different banks and is seen on bottom of a cheque or other voucher. They can be easily read by humans as unlike in case of Barcodes.
