Affidavit is a term often associated with court cases or with mortgage/selling, buying property etc. Affidavit is a kind of written declaration containing material proof/facts enough for the court cases/proceedings. It also include taking oath or pledge in front of advocates also called notary or in front of gazetted government officials thus making it a very effective secure instrument.
