27-year-old Siddharth Shankar, who previously founded multiple ventures across Asia (a portfolio now valued at US $4.7 billion) has set up London-based Tail’s Trading to bring his and his COO(previously at China’s Global Media Group) Marcus Ma’s expertise of the Asian markets to British SMEs.
Many see exporting to Asia as a risky business – muddied by unclear taxation and government policies, intellectual property issues, corruption, payment delays and infrastructure problems. Tail’s Trading’s expert knowledge removes these barriers for SMEs.
And, with Brexit putting EU exports – currently a whopping 48% of all British exports – into jeopardy; the UK government desperately scrambling to strengthen non-EU ties, especially with India and China; and rapid economic and population growth predicted for many Asian countries, there couldn’t be a better time for British SMEs to begin exploiting the myriad opportunities for trade in the East.
