Weitz Investment Management, Inc. (weitzinvestments.com), Adviser to the Weitz Funds, is pleased to announce the promotion of Yana Morgan, CFP, to director, client portfolio manager, and the hiring of new team members Justin OShea, CFA, as client portfolio manager and Ernie Gordon, CIMA, as director of strategic accounts.
The addition of the client portfolio manager function is an effort to provide data and analytics support to our investment team, and to expand on the resources available from our firm for advisors, consultants, and institutions. Yana and Justin will each act as an extension of our investment team, providing thought leadership, portfolio data and analytics, portfolio updates, educational content and market insights. Our goal is to support the investment team and process, and to enhance the intellectual capital provided to our top clients to make the best investment decisions for their clients. Having Yana and Justin in these roles will allow us to continue to expand on such efforts, said Kelly Kraft, vice president and head of sales.
Morgan joined Weitz Investment Management in 2000 as a client services representative. In 2011, she was promoted to regional director. Prior to joining the firm, Morgan was director of donor services for the Omaha Community Foundation. She also worked in Washington, DC, as a legislative assistant for U.S. Sen. Chuck Hagel. Morgan has a bachelors in psychology from Southern Connecticut State University.
OShea was a director of retirement plan services at First National Wealth Management prior to joining Weitz Investment Management. Before that, he served as vice president of trading at First National Capital Markets. He has a bachelors degree in finance and economics and an MBA from Marquette University. OShea has been a CFA charterholder since 2010.
Gordon joined Weitz Investment Management as director of strategic accounts earlier this year. Before joining the firm, he was vice president and accounts manager, U.S. west region, at T. Rowe Price. Prior to his time there, he worked as director of due diligence for Lord Abbett. Gordon has a bachelors in international relations from University of Redlands and an MBA from Rutgers University. He is also a member of the Investments & Wealth Institute (formerly IMCA).
Ernie is a tremendous addition to the Weitz team. His vast industry expertise coupled with his relationship management skills and collaborative nature will continue to enhance our organization and our commitment to provide exceptional service to our strategic partners, said Kraft.
