Pondurance, a leader in Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services, today announced the appointment of Lyndon Brown as the companys Chief Strategy Officer. Brown joins Pondurance from FireEye Mandiant, where he served as Vice President of Business Development, focused on strategic growth initiatives. Brown arrived at FireEye through the acquisition of Verodin, a pioneer in security performance optimization, where he scaled global platform adoption as a member of the executive team. Brown brings a career focus in building high-growth cybersecurity technology companies to Pondurances management team, where he will be responsible for Product Management, Corporate Development, and driving cross-functional performance.
The combination of Pondurances differentiated MDR platform, deep security expertise, and strong leadership made this a unique opportunity, said Brown. The global demand for MDR services is growing as disruptive threats like ransomware, tougher compliance mandates and fundamental technology shifts necessitate faster threat detection and integrated incident response to reduce corporate risk. Pondurance has an unmatched reputation in this market and a tremendous opportunity to lead this space.
Lyndon is a proven leader who has driven both product and go-to-market strategies for some of the security industrys fastest-growing companies. His insight, expertise and industry relationships make him a perfect addition to Pondurances executive team, said Pondurance CEO Doug Howard. With our expanding customer base and new strategic funding, we are rapidly scaling all aspects of our business – Lyndons deep experience will help propel our growth.
Before joining Verodin, Brown was an executive at Endgame having held a series of senior roles, including product management, M&A, and global partnerships, leading to Endgames acquisition by Elastic. Prior to Endgame, Brown held technical leadership roles at MITRE and as a trusted advisor to the US Intelligence Community. Brown is a member of the Forbes Business Development Council and serves on advisory boards for the National Retail Federation (NRF) and the University of Marylands Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Brown holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland and an M.S. in Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
Browns appointment comes on the heels of a recently secured strategic funding round from private investment firm Newlight Partners LP, supporting the companys growth in the rapidly expanding MDR market, driving R&D and innovation capabilities, and bolstering its leadership position in the fast growing MDR market.
