Mosca-Hooper Conservation District’s New Website Provides Farmers Secure Online Ordering for Soil Moisture Sensors

gbafNews28

Mosca-Hooper Conservation District (MHCD) in Alamosa County, Colorado, is making it easier for water users in the San Luis Valley to comply with State-of-Colorado water levels. Through its new website, https://www.colorado.gov/mhcd, farmers can order and pay for soil moisture sensors online. MHCDs website features PayPortthe secure online payment processing system that allows governments to accept credit cards and eChecks.

The most important part of the sensors use in our area is water conservation, said District Manager, Kelley Baily. Knowing when and how much to water crops is imperative to the States mandate and a farmers bottom line. Farmers pay for water, but dont get paid without a successful harvest. Soil moisture sensors provide readings on moisture, salinity and temperature. These readings eliminate the need to make educated guesses about when its safe to put seed in the ground. Instead, farmers use their cell phones to get data anytime to make decisions.

MHCD is responsible for 317,000 acres of private land and 145,000 acres of public land. Therefore, another website goal parallels education and leadership in natural resource management. The new website educates constituents about the districts San Luis Valley Recharge Optimization Project. This project will provide data to assist producers in conserving and restoring groundwater resources, and it will help the community to become a national leader in water management response.

The website also demonstrates the districts leadership by promoting its participation in industry events and board recognition. In November, the MHCD will sponsor Soil Health In The West. This event combines a workshop and field tour with experts in soil health principles unique to Colorado. In addition, some of MHCD board members (consisting of farmers, a soil scientist and medical doctor) have been named Soil Health Champions. Agronomist, Patrick ONeill, and Producer, Cody Burns, were recognized by the National Association of Conservation Districts for their work to advance the adoption of soil health management practices.

Mosca-Hooper Conservation District is utilizing technology to advance best practices in agriculture not only in our state, but also nationally, said Colorado Interactives President and General Manager, Mike Ansley. We are proud that our website platform is helping raise awareness about the critical role of innovative practices related to water health and soil management.

MHCD utilized Colorado Interactive (CI) and the Statewide Internet Portal Authoritys (SIPA) proprietary platform to rapidly develop its new website. CI provides digital government services to state agencies, local governments and educational entities through a contract with SIPA the official internet portal connecting the public with Colorado government. The partnerships mission allows government leaders to focus on delivering on-demand, digital government solutions without requests for proposals or the use of tax appropriations.

“Mosca-Hooper Conversation District is making the most of their new payment processor and Colorado.gov website so that their residents can make the most of their crop seasons. Our easy-to-use payment processor complements Mosca-Hooper’s new website as both take advantage of SIPA/CI’s security and compliance standards,” says SIPA Executive Director Jack Arrowsmith. “By combining two of our no-cost services, the district is keeping residents informed and giving them the flexibility to conduct government services online and from anywhere the day takes them.”

The SIPA/CI partnership has benefited more than 60 special districts and educational organizations in Colorado. Eligible government entities in need of free website development and hosting as well as payment processing through the Colorado.gov Web portal should contact SIPA.

Shanxi Shows Its New Charm of Cultural and Tourism Integration at China International Travel Mart 2020

gbafNews28

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach – 16 November 2020 – The China International Travel Mart 2020 (CITM 2020), co-sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Civil Aviation Administration of China, and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, will kick off at the Shanghai New International Expo Center from November 16th to 18th. With the theme of “Ancient Civilization of China · Beautiful Scenery of Shanxi”, Culture and Tourism Department of Shanxi Province will fully display Shanxi’s rich cultural tourism resources and products, such as “three world heritages” and three tourism sectors which are “the Yellow River, the Great Wall, and the Taihang Mountains”, showing its unique charm to the world.

[View Image]

Shanxi gets its name for being located in the west of Taihang Mountains. Its unique natural geographical conditions gestate magnificent scenery of Shanxi. The Yellow River ranked as the second-longest river in China, flows through 4 cities and 19 counties in Shanxi Province, forming the Hukou Waterfall, Qiankun Bay, Laoniu Bay, and other spectacular scenery. The beautiful landscape along the Taihang Mountains, represented by Hengshan Mountain, Taihang Grand Canyon, and Mount Wangmang, makes its four seasons as beautiful as paintings.

Shanxi Province, known as one of the cradles of Chinese civilization and one of the major provinces of Chinese culture, has left us numerous scenic spots, historical sites, and cultural treasures in the long history of thousands of years. The stories of Yao, Shun and Yu and their historical sites and remains have proven that it was the first place called “China”. Mount Wutai, the holy land of Buddhism, Pingyao Ancient City, and the Yungang Grottoes, one of the greatest ancient stone carving art treasure houses, are World Heritage Sites in Shanxi. The Great Wall, as the most recognizable cultural symbol of China, stretches 8,851 km (5500.3 mi), with 3,500 km (2175 mi) of that run across Shanxi Province. What’s more, intangible cultural heritages and food feasts throughout Shanxi make its cultural tourism brand image richer and livelier.

We do believe that the Culture and Tourism Department of Shanxi Province will bring Shanxi’s ancient Chinese civilizations and beautiful scenery to people from home and abroad with impressive results at the mart.

Beyond Meat Debuts New Product, Beyond Pork™, in China

gbafNews28

  • The plant-based minced pork is Beyond Meat’s latest cutting-edge innovation and the company’s first product developed specifically for the Chinese market
  • From Nov. 18-24, Shanghai foodies can be the first to try Beyond Pork at five popular Shanghai restaurants

SHANGHAI, CHINA – Media OutReach – 18 November 2020 – Beyond Meat, Inc. (NASDAQ: BYND), a pioneer in plant-based meat, is announcing its latest product innovation: Beyond Pork™. Designed to deliver the sumptuous taste, juicy texture and culinary versatility similar to traditional minced pork, Beyond Pork was created specifically for the Chinese market and is the next step forward in Beyond Meat’s commitment to creating high-quality products that meet consumers’ demand for delicious, nutritious and sustainable protein.

[View Image]

The introduction of Beyond Pork follows the successful launches of the Beyond Burger® and Beyond Beef™ in mainland China and comes at a time when interest in plant-based meat is growing in China and around the world. Pork is the most popular meat in China and the country ranks among the highest pork consumption rates in the world[1], making it an excellent location for the unveiling of Beyond Pork. The development of Beyond Pork was a global collaboration between dedicated Beyond Meat teams in Los Angeles and Shanghai. In addition, Beyond Meat conducted multiple sensory tests in China to get direct consumer feedback toward perfecting the product. The result? Beyond Pork was a fan favorite among consumers for its ability to mirror the mouthwatering umami flavor, texture and aroma of animal-based minced pork, while offering the added health and environmental benefits of plant-based meat.

“We’re excited to launch Beyond Pork in China, marking a milestone for Beyond Meat as we are not only launching an entirely new product innovation, but our first plant-based meat product created specifically for the Chinese market,” said Candy Chan, China General Manager, Beyond Meat. “With Beyond Pork, Beyond Meat is providing even more delicious options for consumers to continue to eat their favorite dishes while enjoying the added nutritional and environmental benefits of plant-based meat. Beyond Pork’s exclusive debut in China furthers Beyond Meat’s commitment to this important market and its vision for plant-based meat to continue winning the hearts (and mouths) of Chinese consumers.”

Minced pork is featured in many Chinese dishes, making China the perfect place for Beyond Pork to show off its potential. From dumplings and mapo tofu to zhajiang noodles and lion’s head meatballs, Beyond Pork delivers the meaty taste and texture that Chinese consumers crave but with about 50% less saturated and total fat[2]. Made from simple plant-based ingredients, like rice and soybeans, Beyond Pork offers a rich source of protein with 18.5g per 100g serving and has no antibiotics or hormones.

To celebrate the launch of Beyond Pork, Beyond Meat is partnering with five popular restaurants in Shanghai, one of China’s food capitals. The roster of partner restaurants features some of the hottest names in Shanghai’s food scene, including Egg, Moménti, RAC, Solo X, and Tun Wang.

“I was very impressed the first time I tried Beyond Pork; I even thought the chef must have actually used traditional animal pork mince by mistake. I think our fans are going to be very impressed when they try it — I bet they won’t even be able to tell the difference either,” said Simon Briens, Co-Founder of RAC restaurant.

Chefs from the five restaurants all joined a special VIP launch event on 17 November to unveil their dishes at the TX Huaihai Mall in Shanghai. Each chef was tasked with using Beyond Pork as they would animal-based minced pork, and their dishes ranged from RAC’s Beyond Pork Spicy Bolognaise to Tun Wang’s Beyond Pork and Shiitake Wonton Noodles. By working with five outstanding restaurants at the same time, Beyond Meat can showcase the wide variety of dishes that Beyond Pork can be used in with delicious results each time. Consumers in Shanghai will be able to enjoy the Beyond Pork special menu items in each of the five restaurants for a limited time (18 to 24 November). Follow Beyond Meat on Weibo or WeChat for the latest news and updates for Beyond Pork and other exciting happenings.
