Maana, the pioneer of digital knowledge technology, announced today the addition of veteran Silicon Valley marketing executive, Julia Ochinero, as Vice President of Marketing. Ochinero is responsible for driving strategic planning and shaping growth initiatives for Maanas integrated marketing efforts.

Prior to joining Maana, Ochinero led marketing for the Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) telecommunications industry business as the Worldwide Senior Director of Marketing. During her tenure, she was responsible for marketing its Telco portfolio which included taking HPEs Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) solution from its lab to commercial deployment and launching its highly successful Telco-focused New Business of the Network campaign.

Before HPE, Ochinero ran marketing at a number of early-stage companies resulting in acquisitions by Sun Microsystems, Nuance Communications and NBC Internet. As a director at Cunningham Communications, a prominent public relations firm in Silicon Valley during the early stages of the dot.com era, she managed the positioning projects and accounts of Adobe, Novell and RealNetworks.

Since the companys inception, Maana has experienced tremendous growth in organic brand awareness, said Maana Founder and CEO, Babur Ozden. We are ready for the next stage, and Julias innovative spirit combined with her experience in early-stage, Fortune 50 and consulting organizations, will help us scale our marketing efforts to meet the requirements of our rapidly growing business.

Ochinero has participated on teams driving awareness around many tech industry firsts including Ameritechs home voicemail, Openwaves mobile Internet browser and General Magics Portico (co-named Serengeti) which was the Siri of its era. She started her career at public relations agencies in Chicago. One of her clients, Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), hired and relocated her to Silicon Valley to launch its Palo Alto Center for Strategic Technology.

A recognized industry leader, Ochinero was selected to participate in HPEs Executive Leadership Education program and has been a panelist and moderator at various industry events.
