April 17-21: Trends and Hot Topics on Improving the Future of Medicine at Largest Ever Student-Run Medical Conference Focused on Underrepresented Groups

The Student National Medical Association (SNMA) is hosting its 2019 Annual Medical Education Conference (AMEC), The Call for Excellence: Improving the Future of Medicine through Leadership, Service, and Activism on April 17-21 in Philadelphia, PA. SNMA will be celebrating its 55th anniversary with Philadelphia Eagles Safety and community service activist Rodney McLeod among other affluent speakers addressing students at this years conference. Key topics at AMEC will include leadership in healthcare, health policy, health disparities, and activism in underserved communities. Additionally, medical students will be provided with a multitude of multidisciplinary opportunities that include the incorporation of technology into medicine, hands-on clinical skills workshops, professional development sessions, and other tools that will allow them to excel as future physicians.



Unique in its focus, AMEC is the culmination of SNMAs extensive work for the year to help educate and prepare the next generation of underrepresented physicians and stands as a benchmark for its achievements in the areas of medical education and community service. SNMA is committed to supporting current and future underrepresented minority medical students, addressing the needs of underserved communities, and increasing the number of clinically excellent, culturally competent and socially conscious physicians.
