Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Missouri (Anthem) is committed to increasing consumer access to high-quality, affordable healthcare. As part of this commitment, Anthem and Capital Region Medical Center (CRMC) announced today that Anthem will be adding CRMC to its preferred list of care providers for its Medicare Advantage plans. Beginning January 1, 2019, CRMCs care providers will be considered in-network for these health plans, resulting in lower out-of-pocket costs for consumers compared to seeing a care provider outside of Anthems network.
Anthem is dedicated to delivering products and services that enhance consumers healthcare experience and part of that is giving them a quality network of care providers from which they can receive care, said David McNichols, President of Anthems Medicare Central Region. We look forward to working with Capital Region Medical Center to address the dynamic needs of Medicare-eligible individuals and help them lead healthier lives.
For nearly 70 years, CRMC has worked to improve the health and promote the wellness of the communities it serves. CRMC is a 100-bed facility that offers a continuum of care from prenatal and maternity services to comprehensive cancer care at the Goldschmidt Cancer Center. It also offers one of the few accredited rehabilitation centers in the state, and provides advanced cardiac and orthopedic services. In addition, CRMC operates an extensive clinic system, from urgent care and primary care clinics to specialty physician practices.
CRMC is committed to improving access to high-quality, effective healthcare to our communities, said Gaspare Calvaruso, President of Capital Region Medical Center. By joining Anthems Medicare Advantage provider network, we can positively impact the health and wellness for a greater number of patients, leading to an overall healthier community and lower out-of-pocket expenses for many.
Anthem currently offers a number of health plans that meet the needs of individuals eligible for Medicare. These plans are Anthem MediBlue Plus (HMO), Anthem MediBlue Dual Advantage (HMO SNP), Anthem MediBlue Access (PPO), and Anthem MediBlue Access Basic (PPO).
Individuals who are interested in joining one of these health plans can enroll during this years Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP). The AEP began October 15, 2018, and continues through December 7, 2018 and gives consumers enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B the opportunity to sign up for Anthems 2019 Medicare Advantage plans.
