DELL SECUREWORKS POSITIONED IN “LEADERS” QUADRANT OF THE MAGIC QUADRANT FOR GLOBAL MANAGED SECURITY SERVICE PROVIDERS
Evaluation Based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute
Dell SecureWorks, an industry leader in information security services, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner Inc. in the “Leaders” quadrant of the “Magic Quadrant for Global MSSPs” (March 2014).1
According to the Gartner report, “each of the services providers in the ‘Leaders’ quadrant has significant mind share among enterprises looking to buy an MSS as a discrete offering. These providers typically receive very positive reports on service and performance from Gartner clients. MSSPs in the Leaders quadrant are typically appropriate options for enterprises requiring frequent interaction with the MSSP for analyst expertise and advice, for portal-based correlation and workflow support, and for flexible reporting options.”
The report also said, “The 2013-2014 Magic Quadrant for Global MSSPs’ multiregional delivery requirements, and the MSSPs included in the evaluation meet the minimum thresholds for MSS business in two or more regions. MSSPs with multiregional business typically have a sufficient understanding of region-specific customer requirements, as well as sufficient service delivery capabilities that can scale to support global service delivery. Customers with a mix of global delivery requirements and local regulatory requirements related to, for example, data privacy, may require customised services.”
“We believe our positioning in the ‘Leaders’ quadrant of the ‘Magic Quadrant for Global MSSPs’ is a further testament to Dell SecureWorks’ commitment to protect the information assets of our clients, no matter where they are located around the globe,” said Mike Cote, Vice President and General Manager of Dell SecureWorks. “Dell SecureWorks has a worldwide presence in more than 70 countries. In the past year, we expanded service offerings in Japan, Australia and New Zealand, while adding to our existing security expertise in Europe and India.”
“Because the cyber-attack landscape can change quickly, we are continually expanding our portfolio of security services to help our clients defend against current and emerging cyber threats,” continued Cote. “This month, we launched our Managed Security Awareness Programs and Managed Phishing Services to help organisations combat the flood of information security threats by teaching their employees information security best practices. These are just the first of several new information security services we will be providing to our clients in 2014.”
The Gartner report also concluded, “As enterprises gain experience with technologies to analyse networks, payloads and endpoints for advanced attacks, they will look for opportunities to focus internal resources on prevention and response activities, and to augment those activities with external expertise to monitor and manage the technologies.”
With thousands of clients worldwide, Dell SecureWorks processes more than 70 billion cyber events daily, giving the security provider an unparalleled view into the attack landscape. This intelligence, combined with the expertise of its renowned Counter Threat Unit (CTU) research team and the advanced technology of its Counter Threat Platform, enables Dell SecureWorks to correlate, analyse and condense billions of cyber events into actionable, meaningful intelligence.
