Axxiome Joins Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN)

Global Banking And Finance 1 News

Axxiome, a leading banking solutions provider, has joined the Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN). Axxiome joins other global names such as ABN AMRO, Credit Suisse, Microsoft and Deutsche Bank amongst others, who it will work with to create common banking platforms which benefit consumers while also making banks significantly more efficient.

BIAN drives common industry agreements on how banking solutions will integrate with one another. It promotes open standards and helps make banks operate more effectively. Working together through BIAN, member companies can reduce integration costs, align IT with their business objectives and respond more quickly to customer needs. BIAN solutions will also reduce costs as common platforms enable banks to buy technical solutions from different providers knowing they will work with the core banking system, which isn’t the case when each bank has their own bespoke platforms and systems.

Axxiome is participating in BIAN to help shape the direction of common banking solutions. Axxiome has experience across the globe of advising on and implementing new banking systems and is a rapidly growing banking transformation solution provider, so it will help the BIAN community by bringing its international banking experience based on many SAP banking implementations.

Kris Hansen, Vice President architecture and management consulting at Axxiome North America, says, “There is a move amongst banks across the globe to move to services oriented software (SOA) and combine this with industry-agreed IT standards. Axxiome has extensive field knowledge on banking transformations that we can feed into BIAN. We have developed models and methods, aligned with BIAN, to help the banks we work with to exceed global standards. Bringing global methods and standards, helps mitigate risk as the banks will be aligned with global banking standards.”

SOA will ensure different IT systems within a bank can work together as seamlessly as possible without additional time or cost requirements for integration.

Hans Tesselaar, Executive Director at BIAN adds, “The BIAN community is very pleased to welcome, Axxiome as one of our latest members. It’s my strong belief that this membership will not only benefit Axxiome and BIAN, but the whole banking industry. For many years Axxiome has developed its reference models for Financial Services. For BIAN it is a great opportunity to leverage Axxiome’s models and industry knowledge. By becoming a member of the BIAN community Axxiome has decide to migrate their models toward the BIAN open industry models to become better positioned. Axxiome has a strong position in the area of SAP for the financial industry and given the fact that SAP is one of the founding members of BIAN, it will also strengthen the value of Axxiome as SAP implementation partner. The BIAN community is looking forwards to the close working relationship that we will develop during the upcoming period.”
